Rain on wedding days is NEVER fun to have to deal with. (And as a veteran rainy day bride I know it can totally feel like if just one more person tells you “oh, but its good luck!” it can make you feel like you’re going to morph into full on bride-zilla). But heres the thing..Your wedding day isn’t about the photos. The photos are about your wedding day. So, if it rains..its not good or bad. It just is a part of your unique day. Of your story. A day that will forever be the day that you got married! And I promise you, when you look back on your special day, the weather will likely be the last thing that you remember. You will, however, remember the people, the moments, the emotions and most of all the love.
Jonathan + Jessica got married at the beautiful Willcox hotel in Aiken, SC. We had planned to do a first look followed by couples photos around Aiken before the ceremony. Waking up the morning of the wedding (and furiously checking all the weather apps) the consensus was clear: we were in for a colossal storm. (Like guys I’m talking biblical rain). Jessica is an absolute all-star though. Rain? No problem! We started their portraits a little early and just flip flopped the first look and getting ready (the girls would need touch ups after portraits anyway so it worked out perfectly!). We were able to get almost all of their portrait locations in before the rain started! These two shared the sweetest first look and then just soaked in this precious part of the day that they got to spend just loving on one another. Once the rain started, it really didn’t stop! So, the ceremony was moved indoors and these two tied the knot in a cozy, intimate ceremony surrounded by their closest loved ones. Congrats love birds!
