This past August my husband, Seth, and I celebrated our 1 year anniversary. Wow, did one year fly by quickly! It was full of ups and downs. We spent our first year living and learning together. Seth learned that I leave a trail of bobby pins and socks everywhere I go. He calls our place the “bobby pin graveyard.” (What can I say?! I don’t like wearing socks when I don’t have to!) Seth loves sleeping in a perfectly made bed and I sleep like a starfish in a tornado. I’ve learned that Seth sees the world in black and white and I see it in varying shades of gray (don’t worry I resisted the urge to say 50 shades, sort of). We tend to see most things differently and while this can often be one of the more frustrating aspects of our relationship it is also the most rewarding. It is truly gratifying to be able to shed all your views and preconceived notions and genuinely see the world through the eyes of another. But as usual, I digress.
Seth and I love the Jekyll Island Club Hotel and decided to spend a couple days there for our anniversary. Being a photographer is the best. Really. Every day is different than the last. I get to meet people from all walks of life looking to celebrate their current journey. But lets take a few steps back. I had been contacted earlier by a couple that wanted me to do their maternity pictures and lived between Aiken and Jekyll. I was like, we HAVE to take your pictures at the beach! What a fun opportunity that is! I gave them the dates I would be in Jekyll and kept my fingers crossed that it would work with their schedule. It did! So, I started talking to Leighanne and realized that she really wanted to emphasize her husbands service in their maternity pictures. I’m a sucker for a theme. Themed beach maternity pictures?! I AM SO IN. So, Leighanne and Andrew met me at the Jekyll Club and we ran all over Jekyll taking pictures (and dodging the rain). Here are a few shots from our beach maternity session!!
Congratulations Andrew + Leighanne. You are going to be amazing parents! I can’t wait to meet your sweet little one!!!!
